#DalaiLama The Promise (10) As York Hovest and try had a six day trip together to India last week you may think we had enough time to talk. But the truth is: no. Preparing the interview with the Dalai Lama, then doing interviews with York on video was so time consuming that we had only the time to walk through the first three of the planned seven or eight chapters for the story which will be published on September 7. The problem: York is back with his family at the Lake Garda in Italy, I am here in the 11th floor of our headquarter in Berlin. So York and I have to talk via skype and phone. I have read many pages of his diary, I read the National Geographic book, I talked to him for days and to his wife Saskia Hovest for hours: But still there are many questions left. And each time I ask a new one York comes up with new exciting story – full of surprises. My job is it to put it all together in a more than 10.000 word piece. Before this isnt ready, my colleagues Stefan A. Runne (photo) and Gunther Hartmann (video) will have trouble to chose the right material. So I have to hurry up writing. Tough times for me (while York is relaxing in Italy, the pictures below from today show the tough truth;-): The first draft is always the most difficult one. And promised, Jennifer Wilton, it will only be slightly too long;-)
