#DearWife: Over the years Ive given consideration to divorce. A daring escape from the storied institution of my wife and kids. Oh, what it would be like to have my Freedom. My people fought and died to be FREE! Marriage can be an incredible experience, but it can also be a kind of hell. Its this wonderful playground that you build with another human being. You work to add all of these incredible things to play on only to find out theyve been busy making sure the fences are high enough to keep you in and the locks only have one set of keys... Jail. But Ive heard stories. Stories of inmates who after being released cant find their way. Theyre handed their freedom only to find out they are no longer capable of being Free. Because even Free comes at a cost. They cant survive in a world with options. PICS (Post incarceration Syndrome). Im sure I would suffer the marital equivalent, Post Marriage Syndrome... PMS. Ive come to realize, Im better off here. Its taken me fifteen years of marriage to realize that here is where I belong. So, Ill take my three squares, attend the requisite family events and play the waiting game. For shits and giggles, Ill throw in a smile here and there. To be clear, Im happy. And if you can find happiness in any form in this lifetime, dont question the ingredients, just enjoy your slice for what it is. And keep living. #DiaryofaHusband
