(Dec 8, 1992) NBC announced the cancelation of Cheers; a sitcom set in Boston’s own Cheers bar, where locals met to drink, relax and socialize. While the series was nearly canceled at the start, NBC was glad they stuck with this group of players who took the show to the top-ten for 8 of their 11 seasons - what fine characters they were, Sam Malone, Diane Chambers, Coach, Carla, Norm Peterson, Cliff Clavin, Frasier Crane, Rebecca Howe and Lilith Sternin.
