...Do I make my plans in a worldly manner?... November 1, 2013 Todays Prayer Dear Jesus the mediator to the Father in Heaven, I am reminded of how many people are suffering through cancer. I have lost loved ones to this ravaging disease...and I am praying they are or will be with You because they were Christians believers whose trust was in the Risen Savior. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. I have friends and fellow brothers and sisters in Christ who are now facing that battle. Some will receive healing and more years on their life. Others will receive permanent healing and be with You in heaven. I pray for each and every one, that You will give them abundant grace and mercy and blessings through it all. It is when we are weak ad that is constantly, that we most recognize that You are strong. I pray for relief from pain, for strength to endure, for joy and happiness in the journey. I pray for the sick ones and for their loved ones. This is an extremely emotional time...and a spiritual time. Carry them, Lord. May their lives and their testimonies shine for You everywhere they go. Thank You for the healing You bring. Thank You for being there. Thank You for loving. Thank You for meeting need. May You receive glory and honor through it all. Within this day Jesus, lead...guide... and direct me that I will make and be the change NOW! Thank You for the lessons I have learned. Most of all, thank You for being there with me through it all and for carrying me all the way. Thank You for hearing my prayer and for working in all of our lives. In Jesus name I pray and praise You. Dr. Daniel Amenraovember 1, 2013 Todays Devotional Morning All, Worldly Planning 2 Corinthians 1:15-20 (topic using verses 17-20 KJV) 15 And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit; 16 And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea. 17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay? 18 But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. 20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. The apostle Paul was discussing his plans to come to the church at Corinth. He was acknowledging the serious nature of his trip and informing the Corinthians that he did not flippantly come to this decision to visit them. It was a matter that had been given serious prayer, not one made in the spur of the moment. Planning from Gods view is a process. It isnt merely an exercise in reason and analysis. It requires entering into the mind of Christ together with our minds to determine which course to take. In the Old Testament, the priests wore breastplates with the Urim and Thummim in a pouch on their breasts. It was like a roll of dice that the priests were required to perform to know which direction they were to take on a matter. It was the ultimate release of all decisions into Gods hand. God did not want the priests to rely on their own intellects for final decisions. We have an uncanny ability to make decisions based on our own needs and wants. However, God desires that we seek Him to know His plans for us. David was a skilled warrior who never lost a battle. He consulted God on every decision. He knew the results of the battle rested in Gods hand. So, if he was to gain victory, he had to know Gods mind on the matter. Sometimes this requires more time given to the process in order to hear His voice. Sometimes it may even require fasting and prayer. Sometimes it may require input from other Godly associates. Are you a man or woman who makes decisions based on Gods purposes for your life? Do you take every major decision and put it before the throne to determine Gods mind on the matter? If so, you will avoid making decisions in a worldly manner. Be Blessed...
