~ Does Charles Santiago have a solution to 34% of NRW? ~ Excerpt: The federal lawmaker said the water level at the Sungai Selangor dam was already at 33.46 per cent - its lowest recorded level and below the 37 per cent mark that triggered a state-wide supply crisis just five months prior. The Observer sez: Integral to the water restructuring exercise in Selangor [tinyurl/marbuog] is replacing the ageing pipe distribution system and convert non-revenue water (NRW) into RM800 million annual income, once it takes over water assets from private firms. “We lose revenue opportunity of RM800 million annually. Within six months to one year after restructuring we will fix leakages and we target to reduce NRW from 34% to 20%, and to 10%. The best will be 5%. This will solve lot of issues,” It addresses the issue of putting clean water into homes as well as money into the state coffers. One therefore needs to resolve the water restructuring at the front and the back end too. Isnt this what Khalid Ibrahim is trying to achieve DESPITE the nonsensical diatribes emanating from his comrade(s)-in-arms?
