#DomesticViolence #dv Sheffield Lake, OH - A Sheffield Lake woman faces domestic violence and felonious assault charges after police said she stabbed her husband for the second time in two years. Renee Hoover, 29, and her husband, Shawn Hoover, were drunk when they returned to their Pinewood Drive home around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police said. A friend who drove them home for the night told police they began a heated argument after arriving at their residence. According to police, the friend said the argument turned into a fight, and when a knife fell out of Shawn Hoover’s pants, Renee Hoover picked it up and started slashing her husband before stabbing him in the stomach. The friend called 911, and Renee Hoover was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and felonious assault, and Shawn Hoover was taken to an undisclosed hospital, police said. His status is not being released at the request of the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office. Renee Hoover pleaded not guilty in Lorain Municipal Court on Wednesday, court records said. Because she is charged with a felony, the case will most likely be bound over to Lorain County Common Pleas Court. She was arrested on Dec. 10, 2012 after she stabbed her husband under similar circumstances. On May 28, 2013, Hoover pleaded guilty to felonious assault and domestic violence charges and was sentenced to three years probation.
