“Dr Majors my husbands LDL cholesterol (the bad one) is getting - TopicsExpress

“Dr Majors my husbands LDL cholesterol (the bad one) is getting higher and higher, we are both concerned?” The first thing to realize is that there is no such thing as “bad” or “good cholesterol. HDL and LDL are carriers (containers) to carry cholesterol and one major place is the brain, they are not cholesterol. Conventional medicine has convinced millions of people that cholesterol is dangerous when its too high and that is so far from the TRUTH! Lower cholesterol not only contributes to cancer and hormonal issues, it also has a major affect on the brain and one of the major contributors to dementia, parkinsons and Alzheimers. The importance of cholesterol for the brain: *The brain is only 2% of the bodies weight but it contains 25% of the cholesterol to support brain function. *Cholesterol is needed in the brain to make more synapses (memory) *Cholesterol attaches cell membranes in the brain together so the synapses can communicate to each other easily. (memory) *Cholesterol in the brain serves as powerful antioxidant and protects the brain from damaging effects of free radicals. (when free radicals affect the brain they have the ability to create brain lesions, brain tumors, brain cancer, parkinsons, dementia and Alzheimers. So in essence- Cholesterol is ABSOLUTELY necessary for the brain to function and the less healthy fat and cholesterol you bring in to the body through diet and the lower your cholesterol is- The chance of brain disorders will occur! So the most important blood test is CRP and homocysteine to check for inflammation. Its not the high cholesterol that creates heart issues, its the inflammation of the cholesterol-low or high!
