~D’s Final Thoughts on 2014 Midterm Election The people have spoken! After countless months of what could only be described as a tribulation, the people of our great country have risen up and spoken loud and clear… Socialism isn’t working Democrats aren’t working Harry Reid isn’t working Barack Obama isn’t working Some have reacted with outrage. Others, including conservatives, have reacted with disbelief. Some call it a vote against Obama and they would be right…almost. More on that a bit later. Obama famously said “My policies are on the ballot. Every single one of them.” The people spoke up loud and clear that Obama has been on Mt. Olympus for too long. He’s not there to come down every couple of days per month or so and pretend to be important. He can’t spend his days playing golf or on retreat while the White House is plagued with unanswered questions and foreign affairs. Barack Obama’s administration has been rocked with so many scandals a new one emerges on average once every four months since his inauguration. Even someone who doesn’t follow politics can’t help but notice something isn’t right when the IRS loses its documents, a video is blamed for a terrorist attack, a terrorist attack is called workplace violence, veterans are dying awaiting care in the VA hospitals, healthcare premiums soared after you can’t keep your plan afterall, we’re shipping guns to Mexico…and hope the comeback to us…or don’t…I think… So what did yesterday’s massive wave election accomplish? It was a surprise to everyone but conservatives. We have felt and always feel we have been ‘right’ on so many things and continue to be. For years Obama & Co. have been continuing to humiliate the Republican controlled House as a do-nothing committee that thumbs their nose at what Obama would call the will of the people. Constantly citing low approval ratings in the teens, he continued to threaten to “act alone, without Congress” in order to get things done. Despite the placebo threat of a lawsuit against Obama’s actions of not enforcing the law, little was done to defeat him because Democrats had a majority in Washington. The House was our only failsafe from preventing a downhill no brakes car ride into liberal hell. Yesterday the game changed. Today we can see now we have the advantage. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were put in a tiny little box and locked away. Every major democrat that received personal appeals at rallies by Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama all lost last night. ALL of them. Now even Hillary isn’t looking as strong as she was even 6 months ago. She isn’t the overwhelming crowd pleaser and liberal scepter she was once perceived to be. None of the major leaders in the Democrat party could garner support in battleground states. So where do we go from here? First the obvious. Although his “policies are the ballot” last night and they were rejected by majority, Obama wasted no time offering a back-handed congratulations to Republican as well as reaffirming his threat to reform immigration including amnesty by year’s end via executive action. So much for the voice of the people. We are in for a very hard 26 month journey. Our victory in the Senate secures that there is light at the end of this dark passage. Second, although the election is seen as a rejection of Obama, I’ve seen it as a second chance for Republicans to show what we can do. Boehner and McConnell haven’t been even average leaders. They haven’t been leaders at all. Theyve been, at best, a voice that speaks for their Majority. That’s all. Now we get to see the real leaders of the party come out and shine, pay closer attention to rising stars like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, and also watch Senators get reformed like Lindsey Graham and Thad Cochran. It all starts with a plan. Although we won big last night, almost everyone agrees there is no national agenda held by Republicans. Most liberals continue to beat the drumhead of being for endless wars, giving more money to the uber-rich, banning contraceptives, being racist, and taking away grandma’s social security and medicare. What’s the plan Washington? What are you going to do as lawmakers? The people are offering us the chance to prove ourselves. Think of it like a temp to hire job. If we can prove we have a winning formula to put Americans back to work, be financially solvent, tap into our energy resources, reduce our deficits, shrink government as the end all answer to all of life’s problems, stop illegal border crossings, and crush the shit out of ISIS, we will have a very well made foundation going into 2016 for the presidential election. Make no mistake we ended one election but today have started the proceedings for the campaigns and election coming up in just a short time from now. We must act even in the face of being vetoed by this single tiny little man in the White House. Bill after bill after bill of reforms and laws must be passed and we can start with these… 347 House-passed bills are stuck in the Senate. 196 of the 347 bills passed in the House passed with no opposition. Over 98% of these bills passed with support from both Democrats and Republicans Beyond those, 58 more bills passed under suspension (meaning they required at least 2/3 support). In sum, 254 of the 347 bills passed by the House and waiting in the Senate either passed with no opposition, or with 2/3 support of the entire House. 61 of the 347 bills passed by the House were introduced by Democrats. Yet Harry Reid has refused to even bring up those. This is just the beginning and it’s up to us not to screw this up for every American. Thank you for voting and continue to spread the message that Conservatism is the way to go, always. ~D
