"ECUMENISM" A word of clarification. Based on current practice and meticulous definition of the terms [n. ecumenism], [adj. ecumenical], and [adv. ecumenically] the true meaning is not limited to "Christian" sects and denominations. That, perhaps, was the initial precept of interfaith dialogue and the advent of a communal worship pattern. However, the contemporary constituency within the ecumenical world involves "contemplative outreach" in prayer that is inclusive of all people. This extends to meditation and worship with any human being. The prerequisite is the acknowledgment of a Higher Power, by whatever name the Power is recognized, and by whatever spiritual approach one chooses to take. In the objectivity of only the infinite, the immortal, the Almighty, all-knowing and powerful, icon of perfection and dwelling within us in a timeless stratosphere and universe, the subjective man has become a mere example of nothingness and must empty from all intrinsic value and come to the realization that the inner soul in relation to each other is the main point. How you treat others is a reflection of your own pure spirit. The life task is to become closer to the Higher Power of God, Allah, Adonai, Enlightenment, Creator, and whatever else enters the belief manifestation of the underlying essence. The debate between creation versus evolution has reached its verdict and even the scientific world supports the original burst of energy with a Source of superior means and being. The geological evidence proves that, through fossil research, the beginning must have been a supernatural event and then developed or evolved through biological means into progressively advancing societal positionality. We all are creations of the Higher Power and are intended to gravitate toward the best we can be in the confinement of human terms. In regard to the "one true religion" of organized infrastructure, there is no possibility to make that determination on earth. We simply accept everyone for what they are, in absence of judgment and confrontation, and encourage everyone to follow the regiment of a Faith or Tradition. The argument of who is right, certainly using Holy Scripture and respective documentation, also proves fruitless. It is just an etude in scholastic debate in the world of academia. In the pragmatic sense, we all live in commune and must attempt to live in peace and harmony. Imposing belief systems on another is combative and will never be effective. The interdependence of mankind is increasing from many dimensions. The only way to ensure unity is to be cognizant of subjective conditioning and adjust to the ever changing environment within societal norms and advancement. Let people be who they are and accept them. We all pray differently, but to the same Spirit. This applies to the cultural aspects, the interpersonal, intersocietal, international, interdenominational, intertraditional, intercultural, and the interglobal world and universe we continue to cultivate. The financial propensities and monetary systems also harbor the interactive factor, yet likewise, must maintain their own identity as a distinct operation and function of the world set of the macro infrastructure.
