If not for the kind of person in Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps, that Green Chamber would have been railroaded by the opposition APC, against the PDP and President Goodluck Jonathan. FACT. Just yesterday, his boss and the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (AWT) met with APC stakeholders in Sokoto, a move seen as a precursor to his formal defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC). At the meeting, the APC zoned its governorship ticket to the Sokoto-South senatorial zone where Tambuwal hails from. This move is seen as paving the way for the speaker to contest for the state’s governorship seat or the presidential election under the party. The party in Sokoto said majority of its members voted in support of zoning the ticket to the zone in view of the fact that both the Sokoto-East and Central have ruled the state for eight consecutive terms each. Now, can u imagine what would have been the scenario and the attendant disharmony if the Deputy Speaker didnt have the aura and wisdom to steer the House of Reps and PDP into safety. Well done the Deputy Speaker, Well done Ome Nke Ahuru Nanya. With the support of your colleagues, you have been able to hold the PDP firmly. You have made sure that the PDP is not turned into an opposition party in the Green Chamber. We thank you Sir.
