#ESLONECologne [Semi-Finals] : here are our predictions about the final day of ESL One! Before commenting please READ THIS POST about the ESL VETO SYSTEM: goo.gl/bk4evg Please note that the following betting predictions are different from our Pickem Challenge picks. You can find out more about the #PickEmChallenge- Day4 at the bottom of this post. #SF1 • [Fnatic - Dignitas] : This match could be fairly more interesting than the Grand Final, both teams have a really different approach to the game, a diametrically opposite playstyle (Dignitas more conservative, Fnatic very aggressive), and two top-notch lineups, these elements may bring to a quite explosive mixture and deliver a great game. Dignitas is on a quite successful streak, after the impressive 16-1 they achieved against Titan, yesterday they won 2-0 against Epsilon, this last result is particularly impressive because they achieved it without any real map advantage (vs Titan they started as CT on Nuke), but here they simply won by using brain, guessing any single move of Epsilon and countering it in a quite easy fashion. Regarding Fnatic we can say that their Quarter Finals match against NaVi has been close as hell, and they managed to move here not only thanks to their skill, but also due several crucial mistakes done by NaVi (they should make a present to the Edward/Guardian duo). About the Veto session, as we wrote in the sticky post the system used in PlayOffs is far different from the Groupstage one. In our opinion Fnatic will ban de_nuke and will pick de_cobblestone, while Dignitas may veto de_cache and pick de_dust2. Then the picked maps will be: de_dust2, de_cobblestone and the last one will be randomly drawn between: de_mirage, de_overpass and de_inferno. If it goes so Fnatic should be slightly better on de_cobblestone/de_overpass, while Dignitas are favored on de_dust2 and both teams are aligned on de_inferno and de_mirage. Our odds cannot be very accurate due the random Veto session, anyway we believe that Dignitas are very slightly advantaged, BUT current CSGL odds are kinda skewed, then our pick is an ICB on Fnatic. #SF2 • [NiP - LDLC] : LDLC yesterday surprised the whole EU scene kicking out VP from ESL One, however we have to say that VP didn’t do great choices during the Veto session, and they could have handled it slightly better. However LDLC are a solid team, they are playing together since a lot of time and they already managed to take down NiP a couple of times (but only in BO1). NiP is here just because a good amount of luck and thanks to a weird decider played on Cobblestone. Against Cloud9 we can’t say they played well, and probably if C9 had done a slightly longer bootcamp before attending this event, we would have seen them playing against LDLC instead of NiP. However it went so, NiP somehow managed to win, then kudos to them. About this match we can say that they are slightly advantaged and they have a good chance to hit the Grand Final, mostly because they ended into the better Semi-Finals matching, LDLC are a way “easier” opponent compared to Dignitas and Fnatic. About the Veto session, as we wrote in the sticky post the system used in PlayOffs is far different from the Groupstage one. In our opinion LDLC will ban de_cache and will pick de_dust2, while NiP may veto de_mirage and pick de_overpass. Then the picked maps will be: de_dust2, de_overpass and the last one will be randomly drawn between: de_inferno, de_cobblestone and de_nuke. If it goes so NiP should be slightly better on de_cobblestone/de_overpass/de_nuke, while LDLC are favored on de_dust2 and both teams are aligned on de_inferno. Our odds cannot be very accurate due the random Veto session, and we also believe that this match will have the 3rd map kicking-in, and if it goes so (and nuke/cobblestone will be picked) the outcome will be quite unpredictable. However our odds are around 58/42 in favor of NiP, with a risk factor of 8.5, and we suggest a Low bet on them. ================================== #PickEmChallenge : Please note that our picks do not match with our predictions, because we do not consider ICBs for the Pick’Em Challenge.
