** EVENT TOTAL ** We can announce that the weekends event and fundraising efforts have totaled £6,800 with a donation from First Capital Connect yet to be added which should take the final total over the £7,000 mark. I cannot thank each and everyone of you enough thats been involved, donated, attended and supported the event and ultimately Help for Heroes. Now that the media attention of our troops has somewhat declined with our withdrawal from Afghanistan so to has the public awareness of our wounded, injured and sick, meaning fundraising becomes alot harder for charities such as Help for Heroes. Although the war in Afghanistan and Iraq maybe over, for many of our heroes, the war continues for them with their rehabilitation and adaptation to life with their injuries or illnesses and this is why events like Carping4Heroes are so important because these guys need support for life, not just for now. We will continue to put this event on for as long as we can and we hope to see many of you next year for another weekend of debauchery, fishing and fundraising!
