**EXPECT DELAYS ON US 59 HWY IN PARSONS** KDOT to begin bridge deck resurfacing project on July 7 PARSONS, KS — Traffic traveling on US 59 near Southern Ave., can expect delays beginning July 7. Due to a Kansas Department of Transportation bridge deck resurfacing and abutment drainage project, US 59 will be limited to one lane of traffic for the duration of the project which is expected to take 120 days, weather permitting. B&B Construction of St. Paul is the project contractor and plans to install temporary traffic signals for east/west traffic at Southern, north/south at Southern and one on the south end of the construction project near the Townsman Storage Units. Local traffic is asked to use alternate routes if possible. This is the first of three road construction projects that will improve sections of US 59 Hwy. Two other KLINK roadway reconstruction & resurfacing projects are set to begin the middle of July. The first is on North US 59 from Stockyards Travel Plaza to Union Road. This stretch of roadway will be removed and replaced with concrete. It is expected to be done by the end of the year, or earlier, weather permitting. The second US 59 KLINK improvement project will take place from Wilson south to near the north entrance to Labette Health. Improvements include repair, drainage work and resurfacing. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we make major improvements on our main trafficways. If you have specific questions regarding these projects, call City of Parsons Director of Engineering, Darrell Moyer at 620-421-7020 or email dmoyer@parsonsks.
