EXTREMELY CODE RED URGENT!!!***** ***NO DISABILITY HERE*** A volunteer writes: I just met a girl named Maria....and suddenly that name will never be the same to me....Maria! I sang this wonderful song from West Side Story to Maria the entire time we were together, but sadly, she cant hear it because shes deaf. I saw her earlier in the day, curled in a ball, sound asleep and came back for her later. She was the perfect end to my day, a bouncy, gorgeous, fun loving little girl in her lush white coat with freckled ears. Her eyes are stunning, amber in color, always watching, looking, and making eye contact. On the street she pulls on the leash after going potty, always on alert always ready to move onto the next great thing. Off leash in the yard she loves to play ball, going from one to another, amusing herself with the balls, or bringing one over to me for a toss. She bounds after it, bringing it back for another throw and letting me take it right out of her mouth. Maria takes treats gently and even went into a sit so I may have inadvertently given her a hand signal she knows, or shes just so smart she knows what to do for a treat! Maria was clearly well taken care of before joining us as a stray, her weight perfect, her personality as sparkling as her clean white coat, and her personality social and friendly. When she was pooped out, she lay down froggy style (love that), with the ball close by. Compact and perfect, Maria is available through a rescue group as she showed some food guarding during her behavior assessment. Maria is looking for an active family who is ready to make the commitment to her training by together, as a family, learning hand signals for Maria. It takes patience, love and a willingness to work together to make it happen. Maria is very worth it, and suddenly that name will never be the same to... you. Meet Maria.
