•✽••EYINOJUELEDUMARE•✽••: “And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship...” (Mark 4: 36). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. Before Jesus and His disciples began their journey to the other side, they sent away the multitude. They reduced the population of people around them before their journey to the next level began; their journey to the other side could not happen until they sent some people away. Friend, if you desire to pass over to the other side of Impact and Joy, there are multitudes that must be sent away because they have no place in the ‘other side’; there are relationships, attitudes and behaviours you don’t need in your ship as you sail to the other side; there are unnecessary involvements that need to give way if you want to transit to a life of fulfilment and purpose. Today, God says, discard the multitudes that are no longer needed; walk away from relationships that drain you of positive energy; walk away from people who kill your zeal and deplete your faith; walk away from immorality, inconsistency, procrastination, laziness, inefficiency, pride, anger, unforgiveness, prayerlessness, hate, etc. Walk away from everything that is capable of distracting you from your journey to the other side. The multitude may have been good company on the sea shore, but maybe they would have been excess baggage in the middle of the sea. Some people and some attitudes may be permissible because of where you are now, but they may be excess baggage in view of where God is taking you to. Some people and attitudes you enjoy on the sea shore may cause your ship to sink in the middle of the sea. It may not be an easy decision to send some people and some attitudes away, but if you don’t send them away, you may never begin your journey to the other side of Victory. Pray With Me: Lord, help me to discover and send away every multitude that is not needed in my journey. Have A Splendid Tuesday!
