Earlier this week at the grand opening of the Academic Year the Geosciences student Casper Pranger received the prize for best research thesis of Utrecht University. Casper Pranger, alumnus of the Master’s programme Earth Structure and Dynamics, received a 10 for his thesis, the highest possible grade. Casper was the first in the world to develop a sophisticated computer model that helps to predict crust formation and earthquakes for the Banda islands group in south west Indonesia.
