[Edit: Heres the backstory, if you care — Tillis and Hagan had agreed to three debates earlier in the summer. This was a fourth debate not initially, mutually agreed upon. TWC/McClatchy went forward with it anyway. And, my opinion, if you care — Im still not sure I would have let my opponent speak for free for an hour without my ability to counteract him. Im not sure I would have given him the opportunity to fundraise and whip up his base off my non-appearance. Modern debates suck and they need to be reformed, but I still think they are necessary.] Thom Tillis and Rachel Maddow are both taking Senator Hagan on for her non-appearance at the debate last night. See, thats just not true. She was there in spirit! Oh, and her lovely campaign folks watched the debate and responded with Debate Rapid Response emails - at 7:10, 7:13, 7:16, 7:27, two at 7:34 and a last one at 7:41 - and a final email at 8:03 whose subject line was, Speaker Tillis Can’t Even Win A Debate With Himself. See, thats just healthy multitasking.
