#Editorial: SA HIP HOP AWARDS NOMINEES ANNOUNCED, WHAT CAN ZAMBIAN LEARN Part 1 SA Hip-Hop Awards have been announced and we take this opportunity to review why SA awards are successful and the setbacks that are making Zambian Hip-Hop getting separated from the main league. First thing first, we start comparing support between the two Southern African States. Which country is suffering from hatred between the two? Most of us already know the answer because we are participating in hatred and if we were employed by it we would have been promoted but sadly hating leads no where as it has been predicted to be an energy waster. Its never too late though we are losing time but first lets separate the sheep from the goats, the hatred from love. If the Awards were to be hosted in Zambia you would find the same people in all the categories and if an upcoming or underground emcee featured, yappers would using terms like” Internet Rapper, tatwamwishiba uyo, only ZHHJ know him etc. Now that explains why Zambian Hip-Hop is still failing to get recognition on the African map despite having a lot of dope emcees like Holstar and female emcee Chaa both who featured On Chuck D’s Radio Show in New York, Naff Tee recognized underground emcee based in South Africa, AL KAN-I who had has song M.V.P featured on the 2012 Afcon Hip-Hop compilation which featured the likes of HHP, Don Fidelis who is on America’s biggest website , VIPERIAL.COM, Conscious who is in Hollywood acting movies now and many others and a lot more that ZHHJ has told you about. “What I have I done for you to treat me s so disrespectfully”. That’s a quote from K.R.Y.T.I.C’s song Can I Play that was featured on a compilation mixtape hosted by US’s radio Deejay DJ Smooth. Hating for nothing is a syndrome of lazy man hating the smarter one. South African fans are way too much advanced than us the hating spectators. They buy albums and this year on album record sales ,Casper Nyovest who dresses like School Boy Q has sold more records than Kendrick Lamar’s group mate by reaching Gold status. But our local baby critics would have been saying he sounds American, he is too broke and other excuses to comfort their egos. This is hood treason you are selling out your home boys. Our boys are forever upcoming because we forever hating them. We Zambians are jealousy of things we don’t have or things we cannot even do that we see from others. Instead of congratulating we prefer to hating, swearing that they don’t deserve to earn respect. Our culture is rotten and stained with hate, very soon this place will be a country of bones if continue hating each other like our tribal Politicians are doing. Because of hatred our opportunities of getting our Hip-Hop nation recognized are getting wasted. Let’s change our mindset otherwise foreigners or colonialists are coming in form of NGOs just like the great Mugabe said it today at National Heroes Stadium. We are giving Construction Contracts to Chinese and other foreigners yet complain of unemployment and lack of wealth when we have it within ourselves. This is the same formulae that can be referred to us the Hip-Hop fans. We respect foreign emcees when we got our own talents from Slapdee to Muzo to Camstar to Teliq to Four 4 to Bugzy n Sosick (duo) to Livin2dieto the K.R.Y.T.I.C’s etc. Without supporting local Hip-Hop artists they can never be a representative on the world map but we choose to ignore the obvious. Let that man’s gift from God be utilized don’t knock off somebody’s hustle because if you had the chance you would have been doing the same. My name is K.O Starring, representing the biggest online Hip-Hop magazine ZHHJ. Now judges, Rappers, fans and underpaid journalists, proceed and read what our friends are doing and maybe we can do this next year. Zambia woke up.
