#EffectOfSpeedOnStoppingDistance Recently I boarded a Taxi from Kla - Jja , to compensate for time spent held up in traffic around Bweyogerere, Driver floored it when we got to Mabira, at one point we were hutling at speeds of over 120 km/hr. (Being dimwits no one would dare protest). Car in front was barely 10 meters apart, one behind breathing down our backside must have been about 5 meters. At over 100km/hr, stopping distance would be over 100 meters, had car ahead attempted an emergency stop, car I was in and subsequent ones behind wouldnt have been able to stop, resulting into multi car accident, i shudder to imagine the carnage. I suppose many of us dont know effect of speed on stopping distance, if we do, we are simply not bothered! We need safe distance chevrons painted on Mabira section of this road. Prohibiting 2 cars being in same distance zone.
