‘Embodiment, Anxiety and Ethical Reflection: Learning - TopicsExpress

‘Embodiment, Anxiety and Ethical Reflection: Learning Mindfulness in Therapeutic Contexts.‘ a talk by Dr Jo Cook, University College, London Oxford Centre for Buddhist Studies - Lecture Series Monday 27th October, 6pm Dorfman Centre, St. Peter’s College In this paper, my interest lies in the relationship between embodiment and reflexivity in the structured learning process of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy - both as it is experienced by participants and as it is learnt by therapists in training. I hope to explore how embodied awareness and reflection become central to the successful relationship between the teacher and the practitioner; and how mindfulness teachers and therapists learn to work with vulnerability, through teaching and modelling qualities of being. ocbs.org/events-ocbsmain-129/33-academic-events/354-ocbs-lecture-series-mt2014
