#EnVogueChristmas: Yesterday was a premiere of a Christmas movie called An EnVogue Christmas on Lifetime. As an EnVogue fan I felt confused and when you see the name EnVogue you think 4 individual females who sing with lovely voices that come together with unmatched harmonies , in other words I was expecting Cindy, Terry, Dawn and Maxine. Well I did not get that at all , I got a decent Christmas movie with a story line that seems kind of off in some areas but decent. This whole film was based on this little girl that grew up with men in her life. One man was her father and the other is her uncle who is supposively represent the manager of EnVogue.They both own this Opera house club that EnVogue supposed to perform in emphasis on EnVogue cause you see only two members of the group not 4. Cindy and Terry are both original members of the group but Rhona is a replacement she never was around when the group got started. It made it seem like this was the En Vogue that we grew up watching but it honestly did not feel that way. Theres a part when Terry tells the girl that there isnt 4 of us anymore and I thought to myself that just does not sound right cause at the beginning of the film they did not even start out as a quartet. Rhona on the other hand seem like her character is built upon Maxine and Dawn intertwine together but I dont even think of her as a member. She is a replacement so when I think of a EnVogue reunion it has to be Dawn,Maxine, Cindy and Terry. Overall the movie was decent I just didnt like the way they portrayed themselves as the group cause EnVogue never had Rhona as a member so that seem kind of phony to me. Although they sound good together but they lost some of their magic cause they have to re-arrange songs to fit the trio instead of the original formula. Sometimes you cant fix something thats not broken.
