{Exercise of the Day: Russian Good Morning} This is a fantastic exercise and a personal favourite of mine out of all the good morning variations. Lots of people train the lower back with shortening exercises such as Deadlifts while neglecting lengthening exercises such as the good morning. To maximise lower back strength and erector spinae development you should hit the muscles from varied angles. Lower back strength is also critical to hip drive and off the mark acceleration. So its a brilliant exercise for speed based sports. Why not give this exercise a go. If your new to good mornings opt for a seated good morning first in preparation for this more advanced movement.
