“Expect the Unexpected!” by SYSMinistriesInc sys-devo “And [Ruth] went and gleaned in a field after the reapers; and she happened to stop at the part of the field belonging to Boaz…” (Ruth 2:3 AMP) Ruth’s life was spiraling downward. Her husband died. She’d left her old home in Moab and wasn’t accepted in her new one in Bethlehem. She was in survival mode, making the best of a bad deal by gleaning just enough to stay alive. Then God Unexpectedly turned things around! The reapers began Deliberately dropping handfuls of barley in her path. She Started Picking Up Undeserved and Unexpected Blessings! Why? Because Boaz saw Ruth gleaning and told his workers, “…let fall some handfuls FOR HER ON PURPOSE and let them lie there FOR HER TO GLEAN…” (Ruth 2:16 AMP). Even though Boaz had never spoken directly to Ruth, SHE STILL RECEIVED UNEXPECTED BLESSINGS! There’s an important lesson here: You don’t know what God has spoken over your life, but SUDDENLY everything changes! Doors open, opportunities come, people you thought didn’t notice you, or even like you, begin showing you favor! What’s happening? Your steps are being ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23, “The steps of a [good] man are DIRECTED and ESTABLISHED by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]” AMP). When you allow God to direct your steps, you’ll be amazed by the great things you step into! SAINTS, IT’S YOUR TIME FOR UNEXPECTED BLESSINGS! When the Israelites came into the Promised Land God told them, “When GOD, your God, ushers you into the land he promised…to give you, you’re going to walk into large, bustling cities you didn’t build, well-furnished houses you didn’t buy, come upon wells you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive orchards you didn’t plant…” (Deuteronomy 6:10-12 MSG). Listen: God can put you in situations where others do the work and you get the benefit! And you don’t even have to worry, or get jealous about somebody else getting what’s yours, because nobody can glean it except you! Remember, Boaz Identified the Blessings as Hers Alone: “…let fall some handfuls FOR HER ON PURPOSE…let them lie there FOR HER TO GLEAN…”! So don’t stress over Jane the Jealous, Eva the Envious, or Colleen the Coveting Queen, as hard as they may try, They Can’t Touch Or Take Your Stuff! [Thats a Good Spot for a Praise Break!] PEOPLE OF GOD, IT’S YOUR TIME FOR UNEXPECTED BLESSINGS! Now this is what will really hurt your haters! When Boaz called her name, she came from the background to a place of blessing in the foreground! Instead of working in a corner of the field, she ended up owning the whole field! You see, people aren’t upset because of what you got, they’re upset because of where you came from and you got it anyhow! Reminds me a lot of Matthew 20:16, So those who [now] are last will be first [then], and those who [now] are first will be last [then]... (AMP) You see, if she looked like she deserved it, they could handle it! What they can’t handle is when you Don’t Look the Part, but you get Cast as the Lead Character, in a Best Seller, Anyhow! [That’s a Good Spot for a Praise Break!] Then to make matters worse, she wasn’t there for a length of time! She came from Nothing and got Everything…Just Like That! And when God moves on your behalf, that’s how quickly it can happen! So you better be ready! Your promotion can come during your probation! Don’t assume you have to get stuck in the status quo! You can go from Broke to Billionaire, when the Lord decides it’s in your best interest and according to His Will! You can go from Employee to Employer overnight! You can go from Intern to Entrepreneur in an instant! Learn from Ruth, be in the right place, with the right people, doing the right thing and you’ll be amazed at how many Unlimited Rights and Benefits You Attain! [That’s a Good Spot for a Praise Break!] CHURCH, IT’S YOUR TIME FOR UNEXPECTED BLESSINGS! “…let grain from the bundles fall Purposely For Her…” (Ruth 2:16 NKJV). Can you imagine how Ruth felt? She was bereaved by loss, penniless, worried about the future, coming out of famine, then SUDDENLY having more than she needed dropped into her lap! She didn’t deserve it, didn’t earn it, and couldn’t even understand it! And that’s simply how God works! So Let Me Prepare You Now: You My Friend Are Getting Ready to Step Into a Prosperous Season…ON PURPOSE! [That’s a Good Spot for a Praise Break!] But A Word Of Caution: When you’re not used to being blessed it can go to your head! The Bible says: “But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is HE WHO GIVES YOU POWER TO GET WEALTH…” (Deuteronomy 8:18 AMP). God is the One Who enables you to do what others find difficult or impossible; in some cases they are taking classes to do what you do naturally! That’s because God has blessed you with ability! “Why would He do that?” you ask. Because there’s a direct correlation between your blessings and your life’s purpose! God doesn’t bless you so you can hoard, boast, brag or strut! Whether His blessings come in the form of increased finances, improved health or greater influence, God’s gifts are just tools to reposition you so that you can do His Will and aid others! That’s why you have to always be mindful that the enemy isn’t just after your Provision, He’s after your Purpose! Ruth was purposed there to take care of and look out for her mother-in-law, not just herself! And when she increased, she did just that! The Bible says: “…at mealtime Boaz said to her, Come here and eat of the bread and dip your morsel in the sour wine [mixed with oil]. And she sat beside the reapers; and he passed her some parched grain, and she ate until she was satisfied AND SHE HAD SOME LEFT [FOR NAOMI]…So she gleaned in the field until evening…And she took it up and went into the town; SHE SHOWED HER MOTHER-IN-LAW WHAT SHE HAD GLEANED, AND SHE ALSO BROUGHT FORTH AND GAVE HER THE FOOD SHE HAD RESERVED AFTER SHE WAS SATISFIED” (Ruth 2:14,17-18 AMP). You are increased to increase others! You will never be blessed beyond measure, until you can learn to give beyond measure! As God is a Giver, You Must Be Likewise! After all, what good is success if you are not in the Will of God?! When God gives you something, He wants you to use it for His Glory and the good of others! Ruth Never forgot about Naomi, no matter how good things were going for her with Boaz! Likewise, remember those who mentored you, helped you, were there for you in your hardships! Never turn your back on those who had your back when everyone else was stabbing you in it! When the chips were down, Naomi took Ruth in, and in return Ruth was just as kind and generous to Naomi! Therefore, Don’t get a man and lose your mind! Don’t get a woman and lose your wisdom! Don’t get money and get messy! Don’t succeed and become selfish! Just as Boaz was able to say: “…I have been made Fully Aware of all you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband…” (Ruth 2:11 AMP), God is likewise Fully Aware of what you have done, and what you have left undone for others! So don’t become boastful in your blessings, share them abundantly! Why? Because when Ruth did, Boaz continued to speak over her life the following: “…how you have left your father and mother and the land of your birth and have come to a people unknown to you before. The Lord recompense you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under Whose wings you have come to take refuge!” (Ruth 2:11-12 AMP). So, learn from Ruth, it can happen in an instant, and when it does, can’t no one touch or take it, but those you are purposed to bless, bless them to the same degree in which you have been blessed! GET READY, IT’S YOUR TIME TO REAP AND RECEIVE AN ABUNDANT HARVEST OF UNEXPECTED BLESSINGS!
