#FACE ABOVE WATER 8 (True life story)... So sholas family and neighbours pounced on a former chief judge of Nigerias son,but that kind of boy should be able to afford to lodge himself and shola in a hotel and not do stuffs in the sisters house and Im very sure it was the sisters bedroom they were caught... The father of the boy took the matter serious,arrested all the occupants of the house and the police locked the house up for a week,but who should be blamed?. The news of what happened filled the street and everyone was aware of the kind of person my once beloved shola was... Back to training school stories... There was a day in training school we all refused to dress our bed and clean the division like we always do every night before rounds(headcounts) at night,then our divisional officer came to inspect and found everywhere messed up,so he asked us to stand near our bunks and salute it,he threatened that anyone that drops his hand will suffer malice but most of us thought it was a joke and he will get tired.. This man went outside and we all were in a standing position saluting our beds instead of lying down on it as it was late in the night,after about 4hrs of saluting the bed,we thought our DO has left, wont he sleep too thoughts filled our heads so I and my room mates decided to rest a bit and we sat down,this winch officer was peeping through the window,he shouted my first name kolapo what are you doing? I was shocked,then he ordered us all outside the accommodation,he caught some other culprits too and we did forward roll,it was bloody cos we pulled our shirts and did forward roll on wet elephant grass and it was mid night,no one slept that day till we heard whistle for sports at 3:30am as usual,he released us and we mustered for sports,I wasnt feeling any pain then until we started jogging then my sweats touched the wounds caused by the grass on my back..(You can try that and see how painful it will be)... I didnt see outside the gate for the first 2 months,then we are to go to a naval base at Rumuolumeni in Portharcort for a medical check up,so we were shared in batches,we did another medicals and some people were dropped again... The next time I saw outside again was during our first marathon race,we raced through Portharcort streets,we were staring at every object on sights and ran like released prisoners. We were initiated into the Navy on thursday October 20th 2011,we forward rolled,Hanged as if there is no tomorrow,hunched,did wheelbarrow,we were baptized in mud and dirty water and they said theyve washed the civilian mentality away,it was a day I thought I was going to die but I am alive today to tell the story...
