#FACTS about DrBilalPhilips (DBP) Invitation at PRO-XI Hospital based on monitoring case via legal counsel Atty GLO JAYMA 1. He has NO criminal case; Alhamdulillaah 2. He has no clear case based on CHARGE SHEET initially (Sept 9) when Atty Glo Jayma went to see DBP at PRO-XI Hospital; 3. Atty Glo Jayma went to PRO-XI Hospital starting Sept 9 after lunch and after interviewing DBP and ascertaining his status; 4. Thus, thereafter on Sept 9, Atty. Jayma immediately filed application for °°°voluntary deportation°°° at Bureau of Immigration Manila; 5. At night, Sept 11--- I was updated upon request by Atty Glo of approval via resolution by BI commissioners; 6. Clearly, this is an immigration case and NOT A CRIMINAL CASE; 7. DBP was NOT arrested due to the ff reasons: a. there was no warrant of arrest order; b. he was °°invited for courtesy call°° so DBP accepted and Director of Comprehensive Madaris Aleem Jamal S. Munib and Mufti Pasigan went along with him; c. Lastly, even Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ( a lawyer) announced he was NOT arrested but INVITED as a guest under protective custody; [•Source: TV Patrol Southern Mindanao, Sept 8] (So, everyone including DBP wondered why PNP Chief Superintendent Wendy Rosario announced otherwise based on interview published in local dailies, CNN; and aired on Sept 9 TV Patrol Southern Mindanao) ACTION TAKEN by Dr Bilal Sept 10 writing open letter posted on Sept 11 and Atty Jayma being interviewed by TV Patrol Southern Mindanao on Sept 10-11-12 to clarify misunderstanding of erroneous reports and false accusations against DBP. d. Albeit right after Mayor Duterte on-air announcement Sept 8 evening of his status; PRO-XI announced his status has changed from GUEST to DETAINEE; e. Thus, DBP asked for a lawyer Sept 8 ©6-7pm to understand exactly what is happening; f. Sept 8 ©7-8pm Atty Glo as legal counsel was offered to Dr Omar Mababaya. g. DBP was informed by cancel about the nature of his case and that no clear charge was written on his charge sheet; NOTA BENE: As an INVITED GUEST, he was not free to get out of PRO-XI, but free to use mobile phone 8. DBP was INVITED on Sept 7, Sunday between ©7:00-7:30pm right after his lecture at: a. Sunny Point Hotel, Maa Road, Davao City; NOT INSIDE a mosque; b. audience filtering outside the drive way of the venue witnessed what transpired; c. His lecture topic: 7 Habits of Raising Righteous Children in Islam 9. He was labeled undesirable alien according to Alien Control Officer Delima with basis: no-fly blacklist to US and UK because he is under suspicion of being linked to terror group. 10. Sept 12 ©9-10am flew to Manila with Atty Jayma escorted by immigration officers and in the evening ©9-10pm flew to Vancouver, Canada. It is alarming that Justice can see through its blindfold and can take away the human dignity of a religious scholar without even weighing him on the scales. Islamophobia is indeed dangerous and can lead to injustice when the equilibrium of Justices circumspection suffers vertigo due to fallacious judgment. Alhamdulillah it is not irreversible!
