****FELLOW COMPATRIOTS**** permit me to say that i ve heard enough of the "happy independence day" chants and in the face of where we re today i know that both heavens and hell and our ancestors are not happy with us. Where is the freedom? Where is the independence? What point or criteria justifies ur happy celebration? Our problem is that we lie alot to ourselves, claiming all is well when in real sense, nothing is ok. We re too religious to think and too crude to decipher issues. How can a generation that lives below $1 a day, rejoice and celebrate with their oppressors? Giving the latter a more impetus and the support to carry on in their atrocious ways. When are we going to realise that we are far behind democracy and that we are almost loosing out in the normal-human rating? Men, women and children being slaughtered everyday like animals with little or nothing done by the so called government to alleviate that. If America had been this indolent in the face of security and terrorism, i wonder where we all would ve been trooping to for better life. Do i talk about the almighty PHCN or the angels in POLICE UNIFORM, the road, the educational system, and the lootings? To me, our independence can be likened to a cricket that jumped out of the frying pan, for freedom only to land itself in the fire.... #NIGERIA@53INDEED
