(10 spots left) EXPLORING HERBAL MEDICINE WITH A CLINICAL HERBALIST * This is a foundational course, moving into intermediate and advanced topics. The end results is a in-depth understanding of herbal medicine and how to use herbs, with precision and clarity. * My materia medica is large, meaning I will talk about herbs that you will be able to find in commerce or in your own backyard! I have a materia medica of nearly 1000 medicine plants that I am familiar with using. COURSE DESCRIPTION: * The student can expect to learn at least 25 medicine plants, in solid and usable fashion. These are medicines, that are available in commerce, grow in your area, or can be grown easily in your area. * These 25 plants will be used to illustrate a number of different problems, like Chronic Inflammation, Bacterial and Viral Infections, Urinary Infections, Digestive Problems, Nervous System and Mental Health, etc. * Fundamentals of Herbal Pharmacy will be covered, like extract making, herbal oils, teas, etc. * Formula Making. How to construct an accurate and effective formula. * Topics, like Herbal 1st Aid, Herbs For Children, Herbs for Animals, How to use Herbal Medicines to create movement, What kind of movement and when. This is a cornerstone principal. * Breaking down barriers of fear when using herbal medicines, knowing how to really use herbs for serious problems, and learning to trust your plant medicines. * Some plant material will be supplied and sent to you, for specific class lessons. This is just a sampling of the course topics. Keep in mind by the end of the 100 hours, thousands of questions will have been answered. There is no doubt in my mind that by then end of this 100 hour course, you will have received more herbal information than you could have imagined. You will be at a new level of plant medicine understanding. On Monday January 12th, all participates will be sent an invite for this group. Classes will feature written information, videos, and in depth question and answer sessions. Classes will be held usually on Wednesday and Thursdays, every other week. This will be the main teaching sessions, and they will start at 6 pm, MST, on both Weds. and Thurs. While, it might be hard for everyone to be there at times, discussions, questions and answers will trickle in and out all week long. So, in actual numbers, this class is probably way more than 100 hours. This class will cover a wide range of information, and is flexible to suit your time requirements. You will get your 100+ hours of my teaching and guidance. It will look somewhat like this: Every other week (about 25 weeks total), we will meet for 2 hours, both on Weds. and Thurs. of designated week. I will present a written or video topic for that week, and will we explore that topic for those 4 designated hours. Discussion, questions and answers, should center around that given topic for the week. Each Lesson (20 of them) will be housed permanently in the FILE section of the group.
