****FINAL DAY**** Creatively Maine is Open at 74 Main St. in Bucksport Maine for the final time. Saturday, January 10th 11 am-7 pm. Thank you for coming out and showing your support for the community. And, that is really what it boils down to. When you spend your money with your friends and neighbors, you allow them to put money right back into the community. How? Heres an example: Sonja buys a dresser at Silkweeds. Lisa adds a little to it and pays for her oil delivery from a local supplier. The oil company pays the drivers wage and donates to the Elementary School. Kids benefit from their generosity and engage in enrichment activities they would not otherwise experience. The driver purchases flowers at Daffodils Florist and stops in at McLeods for a special dinner. Daffodils purchases local wares from a local artisan. That artisan and neighbor purchases groceries.... It *can* be a never-ending chain of passing on the blessings and benefiting one another by choosing to spend money within our communities. We need farmers, grocers, construction workers, doctors, teachers, public servants and all of the people that provide the goods and services that keep us alive; food, heat, housing, medicine. And we are grateful for them .... But without art, poetry, music, dance...- without the artisans who pour their hearts and souls into learning and perfecting their crafts, where is the flavor of life? Who stirs the imagination by penning novels and short stories? Who paints color into the world? Who provides its soundtrack? Thank you for letting us set up shop in your community and for your support of your friends, family, and neighbors. If you can, please, stop in one last time to say farewell to the 36 local artisans who were honored to share their passion with you these past six weeks. Youll find many special offers and many more thankful neighbors, grateful to the Bucksport community. We are still collecting food items for the local food cupboard. And, we will draw to find out who has the winning number for the basket filled with donations of wares supplied by the shops artisans valued at over $300. Might it be you?
