*** FLOOD WATCH WARNING *** #saweather #weather #floodwatch **PLEASE READ AND SHARE** IDS20368 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology South Australia FLOOD WATCH For Adelaide, the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North districts. For Saturday evening through to Monday night. Issued at 3:14 pm CST on Saturday 20 July 2013 By the Bureau of Meteorology, South Australia. This Flood Watch is a "heads up" for possible future flooding and is NOT a Flood Warning. Weather Situation: A low pressure system developing to the west of Tasmania will move northwards to be centred over the Lower South East district on Sunday morning, before moving eastwards. This low will continue to generate showery conditions, which are forecast to ease on Monday. Rainfall: In the last 72 hours to 3 pm Saturday, there has been rainfall of 60 to 85 mm across the middle Onkaparinga catchment, with smaller totals of 20 to 60 mm elsewhere in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and 15 to 35 mm across the Mid North. Further falls of 20 to 45 mm are forecast across parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North Districts until midnight Monday. This includes about 5 to 10 mm during the remainder of Saturday, 10 to 30 mm during Sunday, and about 5 mm during Monday. Flood Risk: There have been some rises in water levels in the creeks and the main rivers across Mount Lofty ranges particularly in the upper and middle Onkaparinga catchment which are falling now. There is a risk of rises and localised flooding in creeks and rivers in the Watch area from Saturday evening again. People living or working close to rivers or creeks should monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings and be prepared should flooding develop.
