“FOCUS ON ME!” This seems to be my constant reminder from God lately, anytime I seem to move my focal point from Him to everything that may be going on around me! I love Psalm 46:1-2, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” This is where I want us, fearless, constantly focused on God, not the million things that might be going around us, KNOWING that He’s not only with us but for us! We have to trust God from moment to moment! Hes training me to run to Him every situation focused completely on Him to direct me one step at a time! “In the 1000 decisions you make every day I want you going to God!” is what I lectured my kids again about today, always doing the excellent, right and most loving thing! Yesterday one of those 1000 decisions for me was whether to get some rest or go and spend some time with my wonderful friends and neighbors, Mabel, Rudy and Chris. The decision was to go and do the loving thing and spend some time with them! Mabel makes a statement while I am there and it wasn’t until 2 am the next morning that I found myself thinking about what she had said and it made so much sense that I got up and sent out an important email about it on another decision I needed to make! I suddenly had such clarity on what the next step should be! See how God directs us one step at a time? A closer walk with Him for me means going to Him in every moment and every situation, and I’m enjoying such peace here! And I love how so many times people try to disturb my peace and when I go to God as to the next step, He seems to say to me, “Nik, let it go!” as I’m certainly learning to choose my battles wisely! WE GO WITH GOD!
