**FOR RUTGERS STUDENTS LIVING ON CAMPUS** As I mentioned on - TopicsExpress

**FOR RUTGERS STUDENTS LIVING ON CAMPUS** As I mentioned on Sunday, Rutgers is now on a different server than last year and the procedure for registering your device(s) has changed! If you need help getting set up or run into problems after being setup and dont feel like waiting in line at the help desk, I have made myself available during move in weekend to assist you guys! If you need internet before or after the dates listed below, there are always other SWAT consultants available to help you as well! This year SWAT is wearing GREEN shirts and will have tents set up at each campus near the dorms! LIVINGSTON: Tents are set up at the livi apartments and the circle in the middle of the quads BUSCH: Tents are set up at the BAMM Complex and the middle of the Busch suites COLLEGE AVE: Tents are set up in front of clothier hall COOK DOUGLASS: I dont know im sorry lol, please refer to your local help desk (848-445-HELP) On Friday (8/29) I will be on Busch at 3pm-7pm On Saturday (8/30) I will be on Livi from 4pm-8pm On Sunday (8/31) I will be on College Ave from 8pm-12am On Monday (9/1) I will be on call from 7:30pm-12am **For Freshmen** If you know any incoming freshmen that need help with getting setup, please refer them to me so I can help them out! **For Returning Students** Please dont think this doesnt apply to you!! EVERYONE is on a new protocol system, and please dont assume anything, if you have questions let me know! I will be taking time slot reservations, however, my priority will be to hit freshmen first. If you have multiple devices especially, please let me know. Everyone should have gotten an email stating that there is a change in protocol and routers are also going to be banned within the dorms unless specified otherwise. Let me make this clear for those of you who are computer people and know some of the finer details and some of the different ways to work around, RESnet will be doing bi-weekly and monthly sweeps of the dorms to detect wireless signals, if you somehow get a router through, you will get it shut down, and I am warning you guys ahead of time, the staff have made the consequences more severe than I would have thought. First instance is a warning, the second is loss of residential networking privileges and the third is a loss of internet access to your netid and password login to lab computers as well as RUWireless and RUWireless secure. If you get to this point, no one can help you, so just dont even try to do it. Also, to whom it may concern, I CANNOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE GIVE YOU THE ABILITY TO HAVE A ROUTER UNLESS PROTOCOL DICTATES THAT I CAN. IF YOU ASK ME I WILL SAY NO! My phone number is 609-649-3755. If anyone has any questions please dont hesitate to contact me as well, as I get more information, I will relay pertinent things to all of you! Best of luck during move-in and hopefully everything goes smoothly! See you all on Sunday on the other side of move-in weekend!
