FREDERICKSBURG, VA STILL MISSING FEMALE DOG (Spotsylvania County) 28 SEP 2013 - DAY 57: Ainsley is a 4 year old female chocolate cocker spaniel who left my front yard on Aug 3, 2013. She was outside with my other dogs and would not come back in when called. She is a rescue from a puppy mill. She had only been with me for 8 days. She stayed around the house/neighborhood in woods for about 3 days, then started traveling. Ainsley is a very shy, fearful dog who will run when approached. The pictures of Ainsley were taken just after she came to my house in late July and when she was taken in by the Old But Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue in Feb 2013. After being gone for over 2 months, she will again look like her Feb picture. Please if any one has seen Ainsley or may have information where she may be please contact me, Cathy Shipman at 540-891-5283. A REWARD IS OFFERED FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO HER SAFE RETURN MORE INFO We had multiple sightings of her for the first 14 days she was missing. We used a tracking dog on day 5 (Aug 7), track showed that she had left my neighborhood, The Trails off of Leavells Rd, through the woods over to the Virginia Heritage neighborhood off Spotsylvania Parkway, she crossed Spotsylvania Parkway and went into the woods behind the Lee’s Hill Parke Club House located off Holley Oak Lane. We stopped tracking after two hours without seeing her. After several sightings in the Lee’s Hill Parke neighborhood we again brought in the tracking dog and on day 9 (Aug 11) we started tracking Ainsley again after she was seen going back across Spotsylvania Parkway into the Virginia Heritage Neighborhood. We stopped tracking after realizing she was getting stressed out being chased. We set up a feeding station in the Virginia Heritage neighborhood near the wooded area where she was last seen. She did not come to the feeding station. Ainsley was next sighted on Monday night, 12 Aug, crossing Spotsylvania Parkway at Cosner’s Corner going from near Dicks Sporting towards JoAnns Fabric. We again brought in the tracking dog on day 14, Fri Aug 16. Ainsley was spotted by the tracker about 11:30 PM going out of the woods on the south side of Cosner’s Corner near the Famous Footwear store. We again set up a feeding station near the wooded area on the south side of Cosner’s Corner. Again she never came to the feeding station. We have continued to put out flyers and going out talking with people and hoping to get a new sighting. We had some information she may be around the Old Castle Precast facility and set up a feeding station just off Corridor Dr near the dirt bike course. Again no sign of her coming for food. We got some information that she may be around the Germanna Community College. We put up more flyers in the area and went from door to door in the trailer part off Route 17 and the condos/townhouses off Germanna Point Dr. We did get information that she was possibly chased down and picked up by a young girl in the playground area near Leighann Lane and Plaza View Way. She also may have been seen in a grey two cab pickup truck at the 7-11 gas station off Lee Hill School Dr. On Sat, Sep 21, we got confirmation from some folks from the Bully Paws Rescue group that Ainsley had been seen in the open field across from the Pick A Part building on Route 1 about a month ago. They were unable to catch her. This area is very close to the Old Castle Precast facility where we had set up a feeding station. #lostdog #fredericksburg #VA
