*** FRIDAY - Well today is April 25th, one of the most important, relevant days of my life. Exactly 5 years ago today, my buddies Doc Mel and Baby Lance and I went to see Better Than Ezra on the Saturday afternoon of the Zurich Classic. We caught a few hours of the golf and then headed over to the Coca-Cola Grille, for the BTE show. By that time, we were fully lubricated and feeling no pain whatsoever. I was near the middle of the stage, approximately 20 rows back. Dancing like a fool ( but with good moves! ) I noticed a really pretty blonde in a sundress. Somehow I managed to string together a few coherent sentences and was able to meet Gabrielle Bailleux, my future wife. Her Mom and Step-Dad extraordinaire, Ray were there, so I met them at the same time. Lindsey Ladouceur went on and on about how awesome her daughter Gabrielle was and how I had better be up to the task of sweeping her off her feet. In my drunken state, I actually told Lindsey, You see this face? ( pointing to my chin), you had better get used to it because you are going to be seeing a lot of it! That is an exact quote. Despite my combination of uber-confidence / arrogance, I somehow managed to close the deal! Theres much more to the story but ultimately it ends in a fairytale beach wedding in Destin! Today the four of us attend the Zurich Classic in celebration of the day that changed all of our lives dramatically. All I can say is, man those three got so lucky on April 25th, 2009!!!! :)
