Farai is scheduled to be deported on Tuesday January 13th. He was given a deportation order after his Pre-Removal Risk Assessment was rejected. He and his lawyer have filed for Judicial Review of this decision, but instead of allowing that process to unfold and for that appeal to be heard, the Canadian government is trying to deport him in advance of that occurring. As such, Farai and his lawyer have filed for a Stay of the deportation to allow for Judicial Review to take place. The Stay is being heard on the same day as his deportation is scheduled to occur.
