*Farm Funny!* Sin City Farm Girl always shares her spider stories and as long as I am only reading about them, I like them. Well, now I have a story of my own that I think many of you will like! Last night I went on the porch to feed the dogs. I was walking past the rose bush back to the house when right across my face I felt a thick, sticky cobweb. As I pulled it off my face and wiped it away I thought, tis the season for the thick cobwebs. While I was walking to the house I was thinking about Sin City Farm Girl talking about the ninja like movements she displays when she walks into similar feeling cobwebs. I thought to myself that I had done pretty well and kept calm! Then I got to our front door. Where our porch light is. That is when I saw the gigantic (it looked a lot bigger because of its proximity) garden spider ON MY SHOULDER. Upon seeing it, I realized that it was the nice garden spiders that I like to have in my gardens. But this one was ON ME. My hands were full and clenched as I was trying not to panic. I am not usually much of a squealer, but this funny noise came out of my throat that I couldnt control. It was a high pitched, quiet, somewhat panicky sounding eek. I quickly put the things I had been holding down. I did not want to hurt the spider or touch it so I grabbed a leafy branch from a bush by the door - hoping it would just get on that. Nope. It kept crawling, ever so slowly toward my face, It looked like it was getting bigger. I was pulling my shirt out as far away from me as I could and still it kept coming. I felt the goosebumps pop up on my left arm - creepy. As a last resort, I stipped off my shirt and ran inside the house. My Husband looked at me curiously. So, I explained the whole thing and he never said a word! I went outside, picked up my shirt where the spider was sitting calmly. I took the spider back to where I had first walked through the thick and obviously fresh spider web, apologized and placed her back in her domain. I will be turning the other porch light on for future ventures! Please feel free to share spider stories if you have any! They really are much more fun to read about!!
