Father Knows Best If you plan to spend your week like me watching the ACC Tournament like me, youll see the modern day episodes of Father Knows Best. Episode 1 will be shown Thursday night (tonight). The last episode will be televised Sunday afternoon before 23,500 screaming basketball fanatics and an ESPN National audience. The final climatic scene will show Tony Buckets cutting the last strand of the nets he set on fire for 4 days in the Greensboro Sport Complex. The Wolfpack will ride on the back of 2014 ACC Player of the Year TJ Warren. The only opponents that can stop TJ are the injury villian and a whistle-happy ref. Warren lost 20 pounds, hit the weight room, ran sprints with and without dribbling the basketball and spent hours perfecting his mid-range jump shot during the off-season. Knowing he would have to carry the load for a team of freshmen and transfers, TJ has averaged 34.9 minutes/game and has only gotten better as the regular season wore down. The last 5 games of the regular season he has averaged 34 points/game. TJ can play defense, even at 68. Those same 5 games, he has averaged 2.8 steals/game. TJ is 4th in the league with 54 steals and the runner-up thief on the team has 26 steals. TJ is destined to be on the leagues all defensive team. Where does the Father Knows Best theme kick in? you might ask. TJs dad Tony Warren was a starting guard for the Wolfpack back in the day. Read the article below to know what his dad told him after the 1st loss this season to our most bitter rival Carolina. No, Tony didnt give his son a life saver as he walked off the court with his arm around CJ. Father gave son some advise. Son listened! Father Knows Best! Laugh at me and tell me I am an old Alum who cant see the facts because my eyes are tinted RED.Tell me the Blue Devils And the Tarheels will turn my world blue. Ive heard it all before...back in 83. Freshman Kyle Washington was asked by a reporter how he has prepared for the tournament task ahead. I plan to play the next game on the schedule. I just want to win and survive. Win and survive was first said by legendary Wolfpack Coach Jim Valvano. Although the Holy Ghost may be too busy to watch the games and although the Pack may walk through the Valley of Sudden Death, they shall fear no evil. Another ghost will be on the bench beside Coach Gottfried, the Ghost of Jimmy V. If you dont believe it, just ask Assistant Coach Derrick Whittenburg. He believed in 1983 and he believes in 2014. Win & Survive! Go Pack!
