“Fiesta Arabia” is a week-long celebration organized by Ma’din Academy in order to promote and disseminate studies and researches of Arabic language, literature and culture in the country. The programme also aims at celebrating the cultural and literary traditions of Arabic language as well as promoting the awareness of Arabic language across the nation. December 18 was declared as World Arabic Language Day by UNESCO in 2010 to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six of its official working languages throughout the organization. December 18 was chosen as the date for the Arabic language as it is the day in 1973 when the General Assembly approved Arabic as an official UN language. Ma’din Academy has been celebrating this day since 2011 with various events and programmes.
