#FitnessTipFriday... here are some moves to try out this weekend! 1) Sumo squat with arm raise: Spread your feet out more than hip distance apart & be sure to point your toes outward. Squat as low as possible. While you are squatting, raise your arms up to your shoulders. Do this for 60 seconds, then rest. I use 5# weights for this one due to the number of reps!! 2) Side bends with weights: stand with your feet shoulder width apart. For this one I use a 15# weight. Bend sideways & allow the weight to slide down your leg. Then, using JUST YOUR ABS, return to a standing position. Sometimes it helps to put your hand on the obliques you are trying to work to remind yourself to just use those muscles. Do this for 30 seconds on each side, then rest. 3) Side plank leg raises: Get into a side plank position on your forearm. I modify this move by putting my lower knee down on the floor. If you are more advanced, stay in the side plank the whole time. Raise your top leg into the air. Repeat this move for 30 seconds on each side, then rest. Repeat these moves 2-3 times with short 20 second rests in between! Enjoy! If you try these moves out at home, be sure to post a picture or video below!
