{Flash back/ Player Filler} After being on the run non-stop for two weeks, it was nearly impossible to tell whether she was being watched or if she had lost the trail of the many hunters coming for her. She never stayed in one place for too long and for good reason. Tonight she made refuge in a cave that once in housed several spiders that she made quick work of. She even stripped the creatures of their stingers and saved their poison for her own use in the future. As she now sat by a fire beside Daemon, a strange memory surfaced as she gazed into the burning ashes. ---------------- Back in Kirkwall, after the battle at the Gallows, Hawke found herself going back to the estate covered in blood. It shook her mind, body and soul for how much death she witnessed-- how much she caused-- in one day. As she slugged her way back to her room, the armor she wore was taken off with great care, as were her blades she placed on a rack near her wardrobe, until she only wore a few under layers. No matter how much she took off, she was always surrounded by blood..So much blood. Taking one of the many towels she left by her wardrobe, she brushed it all off of her before placing on a clean outfit. While she changed, her Elven servant tended to her armor, cleaning off all the blood before hanging it up for Hawke. For several minutes she stayed in her room, unwilling to speak to anyone. How could she? The leaders for both the Templars and Circle were dead by her hand. The Mother of the Chantery dead by one of her companions in his twisted eye of Justice. Now the people wanted her to be the Viscount of Kirkwall. She clung to her knees as she sat in front of the fireplace in her bedroom, unsure what to say to the people of Kirkwall, to those who still loved her....to herself. What did one say in a time like this? It certainly wasnt among the lines of Great job! You started a war. Anything else you want to add to the chaos? By the Maker--why did she have to be so nice and help strangers? She knew this was going to bite her in the ass sooner or later but not this badly. Her thoughts are pulled to a halt when she feels the embrace of an arm around her waist, tugging her towards a firm chest. She glances over to see her lover, Fenris, looking down to her. At first, she didnt think he meant what he said before the battle at the Gallows. But his deep and passionate kiss reassured her doubts. His presence here even convinced her that he was there when she needed someone..even if it was a surprise that he showed at all. Fenris I...- He gave her a faint smile, lightly pressing one of his metal braced fingers over her lips, silencing the shaky Champion in his arms. I told you that I was at your side, didnt I? I am a man of my word. A soft sigh leaves her lips as she closed her eyes and looked away from him, dark blue eyes trained on the flickering flames. For a few minutes they sat in silence before she spoke up. ....am I a bad person, Fenris? The dark skinned elf raised a questionable brow at her. No..why would you think such a thing? She shrugged her shoulders lightly. I...I dont know. Its just..seems that one bad thing happens after another, most due to me helping one person or another-- only to have everything I hold dear taken away. I am unsure how great my choices are and it gives me a headache to think how much of a domino affect this last battle will cause....and its because of...me. He carefully cupped her chin, making her face him as their lips were merely inches from one another. Dont ever think what you did was horrible, let alone yourself. You a bright and beautiful woman, Hawke. This war was bound to happen, whether you wanted it to or not. When magic and power is involved, this are normally going to tip the scale to the worst possibility. If anything, you just gave the inevitable a nudge out the door. The mages deserved their fate... She gave him a sarcastic glare. Geee...I feel so much better knowing that. Thanks Fenris.. she commented with a light roll of her eyes, earning a light chuckle from the elf. I suppose I am still not the best at comforting you, am I? Hawke shook her head as she leaned against his chest, hugging him tightly. Not really..but thats alright. This brief moment of peace with you is more than worth it. He scoffed at her comment, wrapping his arms around here as they watched the flames in the fire place dance around the ashes and pieces of wood in front of them. For the rest of the evening Hawke stayed in his arms, falling asleep with the man who took her heart the moment she set eyes on him. She felt so calm and safe in his arms. Even the horrid images of death faded from her mind while in his arms. --------------- Back in the cave, Hawke frowned as she hugged herself. How she wished she had him by her side. His embrace then reassured her that she could take on the world..but now that she was alone here with so many having a bounty on her head, she prayed to the Maker that she could have that strength once more. Oh Maker....when will this horrid nightmare ever end..? In the distance she could hear the movement of the wind howling through the barren caverns and light footsteps several feet away from her. Jumping to her feet, she gathered some dirt to put out the fire and quickly gathered her things to run further into the cave, knowing that there had to be another entrance for the cave. She was once again on the run. Looks like she wasnt going to have peace of mind for a long while...
