‘Foley beheading staged after his death’ Mon, 25 Aug 2014 20:01:23 GMT A visual forensics expert says US journalist James Foley may have been executed off- camera, adding that the beheading by ISIL was probably staged after his death. On August 20, the White House confirmed the authenticity of a gruesome video showing the beheading of Foley by the ISIL terrorist group. The video shows a black- masked ISIL militant beheading Foley in retaliation for US airstrikes against the group in Iraq. The masked man might not have actually beheaded Foley in the video, a forensics expert, who was not identified, said in a report published in The Times on Monday. The analyst added that ISIL terrorists possibly killed Foley off-camera and then staged the incident to make it look like an execution. I think it has been staged, the expert noted analyzing the four-minute, 40-second clip. My feeling is that the execution may have happened after the camera was stopped. The expert underlined several pieces of evidence that suggested the stomach- churning video was propaganda, but not an actual beheading. The analyst said in the video the masked extremist was repeatedly drawing the knife across the journalist’s neck, but no actual incisions were visible. And also, there wasn’t any blood spilling from the victim’s throat, and the sounds Foley purportedly made at the moment of his execution didnt appear right sound, the expert noted. The grisly video starts with a clip of US President Barack Obama announcing his authorization for airstrikes against ISIL earlier this month and then cuts to a title scene that says “Message to America” before moving on to a desert scene where Foley is kneeling in orange clothes with a man wearing black standing next to him. I call on my friends, family and loved ones, to rise up against my real killers, the US government, the man believed to be Foley says in the video. For what will happen to me is only a result of their complacency and criminality. My message to my beloved parents, save me some dignity and dont accept any meager compensation for my death from the same people who effectively hit the last nail in my coffin with their recent aerial campaign in Iraq, he continues. Then the ISIL militant, speaking in British accent, addresses the US president directly, saying any attempt to “deny the rights of living in safety” under ISIL rule will result in “the bloodshed of your people.” The man then decapitates Foley with a knife.
