“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power” 1 - TopicsExpress

“For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power” 1 Corinthians 4:20. Paul the Apostle said he did not go to Corinth with words of men’s wisdom, but in demonstration of power and spirit (1 Corinthians 2:1-4). Why so? “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” 1 Corinthians 2:5. Christianity is about power to live a right life and power to overcome demons. We are rightly informed that the gospel is power unto salvation to them that believe (Romans 1:16). This means the power is only activated through faith when we believe. It is key to believe. When it comes to power there is nothing like God will pity you, that is the reason why the New Testament does not promise us that God will fight for us, but it says he has given us power to become sons of God so that we do the fighting. We are like angels on earth. We are commanders and angels do the fighting. So we “gotta” (must) fight the enemy violently and ruthlessly. Matthew 11:12 “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force”. Jesus used violence and power to accomplish his work. Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”. He had to fight with demons to get results. Good works and healing comes when we use power. No power, no church, but burial society. Jesus said in Mark 14:62 “I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven”. Jesus knowing what manner of sons and daughters we should be on earth and in the sight of God he said “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” Mark 16:15-18. I always ask people that in the signs given by Jesus himself, have you ever seen one of them in your life. People live a lie and forget that Jesus is the judge. If you do not believe surely nothing will be seen in your life (no sign). It is important for us to see whether we have spoken in tongues, picked snakes, if by error we eat deadly thing nothing happens, heal the sick, and cast out demons. If you see one of these signs not following you, your Christianity is questionable. The solution is in Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”. Power comes after the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We must seek for God’s power and not just be content with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is just a tip of the iceberg, this subject is deep and must be understood properly, carefully, and spiritually.
