©For the most part this football season has been filled with competitive games, hard fought games that have held our attention from beginning to end. But even in the midst of the most competitive games, someone has to come out on top while the other side will walk away disappointed, defeated. In the waning moments when the losing team has exhausted all of their efforts and has no timeouts and no longer poses a threat…it happens. The winning team begins to hike the ball and simply drop to a knee. They drop to a knee in a symbolic gesture that tells the other side that there is nothing that you can do. It says your defeat is imminent and so too is my victory. Kneeling, taking the air out of the ball, killing the clock are some of the names this move has come to be known by. But the most common label for this move…is the Victory Position. The Victory Position is submissive and humble in nature but it is also widely recognized as the most powerful move in sports. *** The Victory Position on the football field is one of sheer strength. Most of us will never wear a pair of pads, cleats or a helmet or step foot onto a playing field. But the beautiful part of it all is that we can still take this position. We can still kneel in victory even before the game begins or the day has begun because through faith we know what the end will be. So friend send a message to the other side, whoever, wherever, whatever it is that is opposing you. Take the Victory Position. It is submissive, it is humble but it is also widely recognized as the most powerful position…in life…
