Flo and Lotta once again have to raise their wands and fight to help their charges to find love, as enemies close in and life hangs in the balance. When all seems lost, can they turn the black clouds of doom into a bright happy ever after? Excerpt Dinner finally drew to a close and the guests rose to adjourn to the parlour for drinks. Erica moved swiftly to Darius, pulling him firmly to one side. “I want to go home now!” she announced, her tone broking no argument. Darius was taken aback by her hard expression. He had expected her to support him on this. He’d told her in the car they would need to stay into the drinks. Why was she being so difficult all of a sudden? “I can’t,” he said simply. “Nina has finally been opening up to me. We’ve been talking more the way we used to when we were friends growing up. I really feel I’m making headway with her already and it’s all thanks to your presence. Please, we must stay longer.” Erica snorted. “I don’t know who you think that little minx is but she doesn’t want you for a husband Darius. Silvano has made it very clear to me that they both know exactly what kind of marriage they are going to have. She wants the money and the power. You won’t be anything to her but a bit of fun on the side, make no mistake about that.” Darius’s eyes narrowed at her words. “Nina isn’t like that. Whatever he said, he’s lying. He may want to play around, but Nina wouldn’t. She’s not that kind of person.” “Oh wake up and smell the coffee!” Erica hissed. “She didn’t even bat an eye that he put me next to him. What does that tell you? Any normal woman that loved her fiancé would have had something to say about it. She spent the entire time fawning over you! How can you not see what’s going on right under your nose?” Darius remained quiet. He didn’t like the way this conversation was going. He’d known Nina a long time. Sure, her head had got turned by Silvano and all his flashy ways, but underneath she was still a sweet innocent woman. He wouldn’t hear this kind of thing being said about her and he wouldn’t believe it was true. “You don’t know her like I do,” he said at last, not looking Erica in the eye. “She is kind and sweet, not devious and greedy like your making out. I’m sorry, but we need to stay. I have to take my chance at talking sense into her.” “Aren’t you listening? I don’t want to stay here another minute! Please take me back to the farm.” Erica felt on the verge of losing control. She didn’t feel safe after what she’d just been through. “I don’t like it here. I’ve had the night from hell and I want it to end now!” “Fine, I’ll make our excuses and get the car sent round.” Darius wasn’t happy with the turn of events but he could see that Erica was upset and he didn’t want to push her. After all, she didn’t have to back him up with this charade. He had to honour her wishes even though her timing was terrible. He was making his way towards Silvano to let the man know they would be leaving, when Nina slipped her arm through his. He looked down into her soft dark eyes as she gazed at him with adoration on her face. “Where are you going?” she asked softly. “I was hoping for a little longer time with you. We haven’t talked so much in ages. I’ve had so much fun tonight.” “Me too,” he admitted. “But I’m sorry to say I am going to have to leave. Erica has asked me if we can go home. She’s not feeling very well.” “How disappointing. I was hoping to talk to you about something.” Nina looked so down hearted that Darius began to worry. “Is something wrong?” he asked. “You seemed in such good spirits over dinner.” “That is because I was with you,” she whispered, her eyes filling with tears. “Can’t you please stay a little longer and take a walk with me in the gardens? I really do need to talk to you.” Darius glanced up at Erica. She stood by the fireplace surrounded by several men that had instantly flocked to her the moment he’d moved away. One of the crowd was Luca, who was sending defiant glances in his father’s direction as he continuously inched his body into Erica’s side, while whispering in her ear. Erica looked like she’d been carved from marble, her body was so stiff. Her haughty countenance was firmly in place, as she spoke to the men around her and jabbed Luca in the ribs to make him move away from her. She glanced in his direction, her eyes begging him to get a move on. Darius felt torn. He glanced down at Nina, who was watching him carefully. “She’ll be fine, don’t worry. My father will watch out for her and we won’t be long.” Nina smoothly drew him away, turning him so his back was to Erica. She led him out to the gardens. Guilt fluttered through him. He’d said he would take Erica home, yet how could he turn down the chance to speak with Nina alone? He glanced at the woman by his side, pushing his worry about Erica away as Nina sent him a sweet smile. Surely Erica wouldn’t mind if they stayed a few more minutes. $2.99 Amazon Purchase Link amazon/Forever-You-Fairy-Tale-Match-ebook/dp/B00EOSJECO/ref=pd_sim_kstore_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0X03A5ZRGJW0CCWS77ZF
