“Free State of Jones” will be filming in New Orleans and Lafayette, LA, according to an article by Mike Scott at NOLA. The film will follow the life of Jones County native, Newt Knight. “Hunger Games” director Gary Ross is set to direct and casting calls for extras have already been announced. Scott theorizes that Louisiana was chosen over Mississippi as a location due to a better tax incentive program.
