Free West Papua Campaign Talk about digging - TopicsExpress

Free West Papua Campaign Talk about digging yourself a hole... Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott seen in Port Moresby, the Capital city of Papua New Guinea (PNG) today digging a trench, after just having described PNG as family and yet at the same time he described West Papua as an integral part of Indonesia and said that he will do everything he can to discourage and prevent grant standing against Indonesia over West Papua. Some news for Tony Abbot then, is that if Australia is PNGs family member, West Papua is its conjoined twin brother with the same people but suffering under a brutal Indonesian genocidal regime. The reason that this photo is particularly poignant is because he is flanked to his left by PNG Sports Minister, Justin Tkatchenko who is an avid supporter of the Free West Papua Campaign and International Parliamentarians for West Papua (IPWP), and to his right by Governor of Port Moresby, Powes Parkop, who is one of the most outspoken of all supporters of the campaign, has dedicated his life for a Free West Papua and officially raised the West Papuan flag alongside the PNG flag at City Hall last December. freewestpapua.org/go/755 Even the PNG PM described West Papuans as our people on the other side and raised human rights concerns about them. Mr Abbot may think he is safe from the issue of West Papua in Port Moresby but every person he meets has the burning desire for their brothers and sisters on the other side to be free. The West Papua issue cannot be brushed under the carpet Mr Abbott. If you are so sure that things are getting better, not worse in West Papua, then do the honorable thing and pave the way for a free and fair referendum on West Papuan independence as previous Australian Prime Ministers did for East Timor. As supporters of the campaign, how would you caption this photo?
