#FreeSatMattyJaw Why Am I this Struggle....to protect the rights of young people to freely express their minds , apply themselves in the course of national development, without state coercion, intimidation or patronage. Youths of Gambia, the arrest of this young and dynamic man is testament, and proof positive that Dictator Jammeh is not a friend of the youths, never has been and never will. Yaya sees the youths as a threat, and as a result, since the April 2000 massacre , has applied divide and conquer policies to undermine them. He kept the youths in an illusion of inclusion in national development, by making empty prouncements, but his NIA keeps a watchful eye on any activity involving large crowds. The NIA had successfully dismantled every youth mobilization. He created and re-energized the paramilitary Green Youths as a counter balancing force, ready to help the secret police and military brutally suppress any potentisl public agitation. With no youth employment policy , no jobs, no dignity, and because of poor relations with the outside world, Gambian youths also no longer benefit from educational, & technical opportunities overseas . Jammehs options are shrinking right before your eyes, and now, out of desperation, he is turning to other developing countries like India or to the Mullahs of the murky Middle East for help. With no where to turn to for hope and security, the youths are fleeing the country in record numbers, across the unforgiving seas, and desolate deserts, in the hands of cut-throat middle men. Ask yourself how come Gambian youths are over represented in all the refugee camps across North Africa and Europe? Why is small Gambia always in the news, concerning disproportionate percentage of deaths in the Back Way to Europe? What more evidence do you need that Dictator Jammeh is bad news for the Gambian youths? Do you believe that you deserve the current state of affairs? Look in the mirror, ..do you see hope in front of you? Youths of Gambia, in a nutshell , this is how Dictator Jammeh has turned your future into dust, laced with sweet talk, empty promises and unrealistic Visions . This is how an inexpetienced, irresponsible, idealistic, over-ambitious, limited young man took a viable young nation, and single handedly reduced us to a beggar nation, reduced us to a regional laughingstock . Youths of Gambia, this is the reality and challenge to you all. Sat Mattys illegal detention incommunicado is a warning Salvo in this battle for your futures, ...the question is, what are you going to do about?
