#Friends_Of_Palestine Under the Auspices of the Interior Minister of Malaysia, Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and with the participation of more than (24) Malaysian Associations, A campaign was launched to support and defend of Jerusalem, in Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin in Putrajaya city, which is considered the administrative capital of Malaysia. Hamidi said, in a press statement: Malaysia, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, will make every possible effort to defend Jerusalem in the corridors of the Council, will work to educate the Malaysian people of the importance of Jerusalem, and defend the ongoing Judaization operations, stressing the need for international rallying for the recognition the State of Palestine and Jerusalem as its capital. The launch of the campaign, after the many Malaysian institutions discussed ways to defend Masjid Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem, and protect it from what the Israeli occupation plans, and as an initiative of the Jerusalem Foundation of Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur. According to the director of Jerusalem Foundation Malaysia, Dr. Makram Mohammed, said that the campaign is seeking to form a state of awareness of the importance of Jerusalem, and what it represents of religious and civilization dimensions for all Muslims in the world, far from confining it to national and regional dimensions. The Malaysian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, issued an official circular to Friday preachers, urging the necessity to talk about Jerusalem, Masjid Al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock, and the plans by the Israeli occupation to split the Masjid in preparation for its demolition. In the same context, the Palestinian Cultural Organization Malaysia, PCOM, interacts with these occasions to cover current events in Jerusalem and try to reflect them to the people of Malaysia.
