[From ADM North Sikkim] North district has become first district to install biometric device for monitoring attendance of its employees. All employees have to put finger on device before entering in office before 10.15 am and while going back at 4.00 pm. Otherwise computer will show absence and said absence will be treated as leave without pay. In first phase we installed it in New Annexure building, in second phase within month we will cover all departments. After completion of month one, list of absentees will be generated by DC office and will be sent to concerned deptt for clarification. It means attendance will be monitored for all departments by DC office.
