(From Jach): Rhythms & Patterns . . . January and February . . . Happy New Year! 2015, the Year of Remembering, is underway. The recording of the Rhythms and Patterns of 2015 will soon be available for downloading and streaming. Since January is already underway, I want to share some thoughts from Lazaris about this first phase and these first two months. Phases 1 and 4 of this year are short phases (only two months each). The year begins with love: “Receiving Love and Recovering Magic.” And it ends with love: “Remembering Love and Respecting Shadows and Lights. In between, the second and third phases are each four months with phase 2 building to the crescendoing phase 3. For everyone this will be a year to remember and for us who work our magic as we navigate the upcoming months, this can be a wondrous year well worth remembering. There are five prevailing energies that begin this year: Determination-Resolve, Flickering Hope, and Optimism. Each of these is potential dampened or tempered with the two remaining prevailing energies: suspicion and impatience. The subtle determination and resolve that emerged during November and December of 2014 will continue as this new year gets underway. Both the expansive and the constricting voices of determination will speak loudly during these first two months. As February unfolds, determination will become more grounded, more earthy. Hope usually begins new events and especially new years. There will be hope, but it will lack substance: flickering hope. As January moves into February, hope will fade, but, as Lazaris points out, the seeds of genuine hope will be planted. Genuine hope emerges in the second phase. The mixture of determination-resolve with hope, even though it’s shallow and even though it fades, will generate a resonance of optimism. However, people will be suspicious of governments, corporations, organizations, etc. and this energy of suspicion along with the resonance of impatience will have impact upon the otherwise upbeat prevailing energies. Lazaris talks of the Elements: Last year ended with the Elements of Fire and Earth. 2015 begins with both Elements having strong presence, but fire will subside and Earth with grow stronger. In February, water will make its appearance and together with Earth, things will start to get muddy. Within the mix of prevailing energies and Elements with their metaphorical meanings, it is time for everyone to focus on receiving love and for us as magicians, it’s a time for recovering our magic. Lazaris offers six suggestions for these two months. There is a quotation for each month. January’s quotation: Remember the love. When you feel stuck or lost, when hope slips like sand through your fingers, when the music stops and the light fades, remember the love. Around the bend, triumph waits. Remember the love. Yes, always, remember. (Lazaris) February’s quotation: Despite all the sited evidence and arguments to the contrary, the world is better than it’s been. Despite the seeming contradictions and real paradoxes of these times, the world is becoming other than better. It is becoming new. Your gratitude with its powers and wonders can be your foundation and your platform from which to leap. Reach into the unrealized of the ancients — remember. Reach into the uncharted of the new — remember. Leap. Set your new world in motion and welcome the world becoming new. (Lazaris) There are four other suggestions. 1. Some among us will be working with benevolence and with sharing as we focus on how we express our benevolence and upon how we share our concern, caring, kindness, and our affection for others. Receiving love is critical during these months, and putting that love into action through benevolence and sharing can be key to our work with love. 2. Another suggestion is just that: Work with love. Lazaris encourages us to design our own regimen by beginning with self-love and then moving on to being loved. Out of owning, really owning, that we are truly loved, we can move with elegance and panache to working with being loving. This fits hand and glove with benevolence and sharing, doesn’t it? 3. Forgiveness is another potential focus for January or February or for both months. What do we yet need to forgive ourselves for? What forgiveness do we need to offer to another? Is it something old or is it fairly new? We have technique and there’s a wonderful recording we can work with to refresh our technique: “Forgiveness: The Miracle of Magic.” 4. The final suggestion is to work with hope. It’s a prevailing energy and it will be shallow during these months. As we strengthen our hope, we can bolster the flickering hope in the world. We won’t stop it from fading, but we can make the “soil more fertile” for the seeds of genuine hope will be planted and in which those seeds can grow. For me, my focuses for January and February will be up the January quotation . . . “Remember the love.” I will also be working with sharing benevolence and with forgiveness. It just feels right for me to begin the year with this three pronged focus. How about you? What are you plans for your magic during this first phase of the year?
