^GOKWE PLEASE CONFIRM THIS^ HARE WEARING EARINGS SPOTTED IN GOKWE A FAMILY in Gokwe ran for dear life after discovering a dead hare with ear-rings and a necklace in a clay pot at the entrance to their kraal, Sunday News reports. The incident which happened on Tuesday last week, was confirmed by Chief Njelele and family members.Ms Tendai Macheruke, a family member, said the family was yet to stomach what transpired. She said villagers had to be called to see the clay pot which was just left at the kraal entrance. “When we woke up in the morning on Tuesday, we discovered that there was a clay pot at our kraal. My father decided to go and open it but to his surprise, he saw a hare with ear rings inside. After he told us what was inside, we all ran for dear life as we thought the hare would follow us,” said Ms Macheruke. “Villagers were called and they came to see the unusual thing that we had just discovered. No-one dared to come close because we thought it was going to attack us. We had to call a local traditional healer to help and he did so. “The nyanga did what he knows best and that was when we all discovered that inside a clay pot was a hare with yellow ear-rings a red cloth on its neck. As the family, we are still surprised because we have not quarrelled with any one and we do not know what the person who planted such a pot is trying to do.” Ms Macheruke added that her family would call a traditional healer to cleanse the home and provide answers on who had left the hare. She, however, said her family would not fight back. “We are not moved by what happened. God promised us in the Bible to take care of us and that truly happened to my family. We will keep on praying to God to protect us from evil and for his guidance,” Ms Macheruke said. Chief Njelele, to whom the matter was reported, said the incident left villagers shocked but was quick to indicate that it had become common to experience strange things in his area. “The community is still looking for answers on who did it and for what purposes because the family to whom the incident took place is not troublesome. When strange things befall a family, we advise them to seek help from the best people who might help,” Chief Njelele said. Source: Sunday News
